The Beacon House is hands down the best recovery facility in Louisville. I stayed there 9 months while they provided an environment for me to achieve long term sobreity. I highly suggest coming in for an interview if you or a loved one struggles with alcoholism or substance use disorder.

After 48 years of battling drug, alcohol, demons both real and those who were just in my head, the year I spent at the Beacon House is the first year of my life that I was able to live like the way I had wanted to my entire life. The physical building is laid out well and kept clean by the residence themselves. The healing virtue of the House though is the brotherhood of guys who understand the bondages of drugs and alcohol. Each of us had a desire within us, some deeper then others, to do what was right, but always ran into that same wall of picking up were we had left off, if we were even able to stop for any period of time. The staff loved us with tough love some of the time but always pointed us towards a spiritual solution. That is the strength of the Beacon House, it is a God chosen vehicle to reach men who are hurting, lonely and starving for understanding and love. If you ever want to get in the middle of something that God is in the middle of, stop by and ask someone on staff, what it is you can do to help make sure the doors of this amazing work of God stay open!

I currently live at the Beacon and it is the nicest place in downtown Louisville to help me get back on my feet. Since I have been here I have four months clean and sober and would NOT have had it otherwise. Do not listen to the poor/fair review it is probably some that holds a resentment towards this house for them not being able to commit to their sobriety. The house structure comes from the ideas used at the Healing Place that are proven to work! The Beacon house is a bit more lax than over at HP but is still as serious about being clean and learning to be accountable for your actions. Seriously, I wrote this review for alcoholics and addicts looking for a clean safe place to recovery and for parents or family members that may be looking for a solid place to help their loved ones with working on fighting the grips of this DEADLY disease! Call for more information. I hope it helped to hear my experience, strength, and hope about my experience here.
